Isn’t Line Dancing just Country music ?
No it’s not, line dancing whilst having it’s roots in Country & Western music now uses all types of music including pop, latin, rock & roll, Irish, and of course country. There’s a real mix in line dancing now with dances being choreographed to chart music as well as to Country. Our aim is to offer dancers a wide selection of music and dance style.

I don’t fancy “stomping” around all night ?
And neither do I ! Line dancing will teach you how to dance to a variety of music and rhythms, such as pop, cha cha, waltz, mambo, samba, jive, polka, rhumba, rock & roll – the list really is endless.

I just want a fun night out !
Then you’ll be coming to the right place. Dancing is about having fun and enjoying yourself. The emphasis is very much on having a good time.

What happens on the night itself ?
On Tuesdays between 7pm and 8pm there will be a beginners class which will go though everything from scratch, no previous experience needed at all. Between 8.00pm and 10.00pm there will be a mixture of teaching and social dancing. The dances taught at this class will be aimed at those people who are already dancing but if you’re a beginner please feel free to stay and see what's possible if you stay with it. Anyone attending our classes can come and go through the night as they want.

Line Dancing isn’t proper dancing !
Oh yes it is. If you’ve ever watched the BBC’s Strictly Dance Fever line dancing has produced the runners up in both series. In the last series Darren just missed out on being crowned champion to Darrien and in Series One linedancers Jodie & Danny came a close second to Sadie and Joseph.

I don’t have a dance partner to come with ?
No problem at all, whilst you’ll make new friends at a line dancing class you dance on your own so whether you’re coming with friends or on your own you’ll be able to take part from Day 1.

But I can’t dance !
That’s the idea of coming to a dance class. You don’t need any prior experience of dancing at all to be able to line dance. You’ll walk in at 7.00pm and dance out !!

Do I need to buy boots ?
Absolutely not, just wear something that you are comfortable in, however ladies should avoid wearing high heels.

Who’s going to teach me ?
I am, my name is Paul and I’m a professionally qualified dance instructor with the United Kingdom Alliance of Professional Teachers of Dance. I took part in my first line dance class more than 10 years ago and over the last 10 years have taught classes, and delivered workshops, at events throughout the North of England and Wales.

I can regularly be seen as an instructor for HF Holiday's linedance breaks which take place the length & breadth of the Country. I have also taken part in many workshops which can be seen on the events page.
